  1. The Chairman’s decisions are final.
  1. The walk is the only gait permitted outside the arena, excluding the warm-up area.
  1. A one-minute gate call will be enforced.
  1. Event cancellations will be at the Chairman’s discretion. In this case refunds will be given.
  1. We reserve the right to adjust these rules if necessary for the safety of the horses and/or riders.
  1. Re-rides will be given at the Chairman’s discretion only.
  1. In the case of timer malfunction a re-ride will be given.
  1. A re-ride will NOT be given and a no time received if tack or equipment should break or the horse should cast a shoe while negotiating the course and the difficulty prevents the completion of the run.
  1. A re-ride will NOT be given if a horse or rider falls.
  1. In pointed classes a 5-second penalty will be added to your time if a barrel or pole is knocked down. No penalty will be added if you prevent a pole or barrel from falling to the ground.
  1. You will be DISQUALIFIED and receive a no-time for the following:
    1. 1. Breaking the pattern.
      2. “Breaking the timer” during your run.
    2. 3. Using a prop to encourage the horse. Example, hitting the horse with the flag in the flag race.
  1. Dress code for Rider: Shirt, long trousers, appropriate riding shoes with a clearly defined heel. Helmets are strongly encouraged but not required. Hats are optional.
  1. Dress code for Horse: Appropriate tack including a saddle and headgear.
  1. Excessive punishment of a horse at any time shall result in disqualification for the duration of the gymkhana.
  2. Show officials reserve the right to remove a horse and/or rider from the gymkhana without recourse.
  3. In the case of a tie the rider with the most first wins if still a tie the one with the most seconds. On down as necessary.
  4. Age divisions will be  Lead Line, 7 & under, 8 to 13, 14 to 18, 19 & over, 50+.
  1. Ribbons will be given to places 1st thru 6th.
  2. No contestant may enter in any pointed event more than once.
  1. Points will be given as follows: 1st place = 6 points, 2nd place = 5 points, 3rd place = 4 points, 4th place = 3 points, 5th place = 2 points, 6th place = 1 point.
  1. Only members of the show staff are allowed in the announcer’s booth.
  2. Anyone paying for entries and payment of check does not clear for insufficient funds; their points will be frozen until arrangements have been made to bring debt current.
  3. Age divisions based on your age as of September 1st of that year.
  4. Contestants must compete in 3 out of 4 gymkhanas to be eligible for spring and fall series high point and reserve awards.
  5. Alcoholic beverages or use of any illegal substance of any kind are strictly prohibited on the grounds.  One warning will be given; any repeat offense will result in automatic dismissal of the rider and/or guest(s).  No points will be given to the rider for that day.
  6. The use of profanity or abusive language by any contestant will result in disqualification from that event and could result in disqualification from the entire gymkhana. 

  7.  It is the responsibility of the rider to understand the pattern of each event ridden. 

  8.  Any act of discourtesy or disobedience toward any Gymkhana Official, in and out of the arena, will result in disqualification for the duration of the Gymkhana

  9. Any discrepancies in times or patterns must be brought to the attention of the Chairman immediately (prior to the next rider entering the arena).

  10. After crossing the timer, a rider has a maximum of two minutes to complete the pattern and exit the arena.

  11. The contestant or the contestant's legal guardian must sign release form before entering the arena.

  12. Horses may not be tied to fences anywhere on the premises.

  1. Any dogs brought onto the premises must be kept on a leash.
  1. The Chairman, or J-Six Staff, may determine that a horse presents a safety or health risk to others and disqualify the horse from that gymkhana.  They may further request that the horse be removed from the arena grounds.  Failure to comply with this request will result in disqualification from the event and forfeiture of accumulated points for the year.
